German Dota 2 star of Russian origin Leon "Nine" Kirillin has announced that he will not compete in Dota 2 esports for an unspecified period of time.
He did not start his professional career in 2017, playing for Penta Sports and Team Spirit, and after an episode in the American team J.Storm, he joined the team that first played under the name mudgolems, and then as Tundra Esports in early 2021.
Last year, he achieved his greatest success in his career and with the team won TI 2022 with a convincing 3-0 victory against Team Secret in the grand final, and with Aegis relations, the main prize in the amount of eight and a half million dollars.
Tundra came to TI 2023 as the third-ranked team of the Dota Pro Circuit, they won the first place in group D, but they experienced an unexpected defeat from the Nouns in the main play-off, which is why they started the playoffs from the loser's play-off, where they were eliminated in the first round after the defeat against the Entity.
Nine stated that he is extremely happy and proud of everything he has accomplished in the past three years as a Dota 2 player, but that the past two years have been extremely stressful and he needs a break from constant traveling and competing.
