Team BDS managed to recover from a 0-2 start and with a spectacular game at the end of the match, triumphed in the decisive fifth game for placement in the main stage of the LoL World Championship 2023 against PSG Talon.
PSG Talon showed an extremely high level of quality in the matches leading up to the final battle to advance, which is why they entered this duel as favorites. They confirmed the role of favorites in the first two games in which they took convincing victories, allowing BDS to make only three kills in each of them.
In the third game, BDS finally woke up. Although PSG had a better start, Team BDS managed to catch up with them and, most importantly, to prevent them from increasing their lead unhindered for the third time in a row. Once Adam "Adam" Maanane collected enough items on Olaf PSG Talon had a big problem in their ranks every teamfight, and BDS managed to close the gap to 1-2.
In the fourth game, Team BDS completely demolished PSG with a total of 25 kills in 26 minutes of play, which meant that one last game would decide who goes home and who continues the competition.
In the fifth game, both teams held their own well in the early stages of the game, which foreshadowed the exciting finish that we won. At the end of 40 minutes of the game there was a fight that broke the outcome of the whole match, Huang "Azhi" Shangjhin collided too much with Gnar in BDS and died first in the fight that followed, which BDS knew how to take advantage and completely outplay the opponents for aces that he brought them victory.
In the second match to advance, despite a bad start, GAM Esports managed to fight for the main stage of the tournament. They defeated Team Whales 3-1, mostly thanks to the frequent mistakes of their opponents, which they knew how to take advantage of.
Shortly after the end of the playoffs, we received the pairs of the first round of the main stage of the competition. As a reminder, there will be a total of five rounds, the first two rounds are played for one game won, and the remaining for two wins. Teams advance to the playoffs with three wins, and are eliminated after three losses.
