MSI 2024: Liquid knocks out Fnatic, T1 in fight for survival

Team Liquid was convincing against Fnatic in the first round of the loser's bracket of this year's MSI tournament, China's champion Bilibili Gaming prevented a Korean derby in the final of the winner's bracket and sent T1 to fight for survival.

Fnatic and PSG Esports are the first two teams to bid farewell to the main stage of MSI 2024. America's long-awaited victory against Europe in a Bo5 match, and Team Liquid brought them a big celebration with a convincing triumph against an unconvincing Fnatic. American mid laner APA stood out as the hero of Liquid's victory, who played a key role in all three of his team's victories, for which he was declared the man of the match.

The team's ADC, Yeon, is also to be commended, as he bounced back from a terrible match at the start of the competition and played much better, dominating the bot lane against Fnatic's Korean duo of Noah and Jun. Yeon has corrected the mistakes he showed against Top Esports in an extremely short time, but now he and the rest of the team face a much bigger challenge, in the form of the champions of the planet T1.

T1 lost to Bilibili Gaming 1-3. They continued the lackluster performance they showed against G2, but then managed to pull out a decisive fifth game win, which was not the case against the much stronger LPL champion.

Bilibili was up to the task from the pick and ban phase itself, right up to the play. The players were clearly tuned in to the current meta heroes and it seemed like they were always one step ahead of T1 in the plans. Knight performed well on mid and it will be a pleasure to watch him against Chovy and Gen.G in the battle for a place in the grand finals.

G2 quickly demolished PSG 3-0 in a match where the difference between the teams was simply too great. PSG managed to put up some resistance in the first game, but then they completely faltered. In the second game, G2 triumphed in just 21 minutes with a score of 23-4, and in the next they needed five minutes more, with a score of 23-6.

They warmed up well for the difficult match that awaits them against the vice-champion of China, the Top Esports team, which will be played tomorrow at 11 am. A day later, in the same time slot, T1 and Team Liquid meet, while on Friday we watch the duel between the winners of these two matches.
