Karmine Corp joins LEC, Astralis leaving

The multiple champions of France and EU Masters and one of the most popular LoL teams in Europe finally reached their ultimate goal, the leading European LoL league - LEC.

Founded by the popular French streamer Kamel "Kameto" Kebir, Karmine Corp has in a short time become a kind of phenomenon in the European LoL sport, breaking all the boundaries of viewership and popularity. With their arrival, they significantly influenced the popularity of the already very popular LFL league, and then the hype around them was transferred to the EU Masters, where they were without competition for two seasons in a row.

Unlike the LEC teams, Karmine Corp had a free hand to organize their own events and fan gatherings, which they used several times for exhibition matches with other teams from the REL (Regional Europe League) competition, bringing thousands and thousands of esports fans to halls across France. which at one point became a phenomenon that some LEC teams envied.

When it comes to the LEC league, Karmine Corp tried to get a slot last year, but Riot did not give them the green light, and we never found out what the exact reason was. After that, KC tried to make a deal with Astralis to play together in the league, since Astralis was initially not interested in selling a place in the competition, but eventually it happened.

What is important is the fact that Carmine Corp has confirmed that they will continue to compete in the French league with their academy, even though LEC teams are no longer required to have academies in the regional leagues.

As for Astralis, we can assume that they will completely exit LoL and not continue to compete in one of the smaller leagues, since even while in the LEC they didn't seem too interested in establishing themselves as a big brand in this league. esports.
