Popular LoL veteran Erik "Rekkles" Larsson failed to find a suitable offer in the LEC, which is why he will continue his career in Korea, in the ranks of the B team of the current world champion T1.
This news reported by the portal SheepEsports quite shocked LoL fans both in Korea and in Europe, but according to sources close to the portal, it is verified information that has been reported by several different sources.
Namely, during the current World Championship until yesterday, Rekkles was spotted on several occasions in the premises of T1, and rumors say that he already played preparatory matches with the T1 Academy.
And while fans are trying to figure out what is behind this move, it is clear that it is most likely a marketing campaign by T1 to further strengthen the popularity of the organization, but also for Rekkles and young Korean players to exchange experience and learn from each other.
For now, it is not known whether Rekkles learned Korean in the meantime or whether the team will communicate in English, as well as whether all team players can actually actively use English at a high enough level for a competitive environment.
As a reminder, T1 Academy plays in Korea's second league, which has produced some of the biggest stars of LoL esports and is generally the biggest breeding ground for talent in the world.
Rekkles, who is on the Fnatic bench, has officially confirmed that he is changing his position and that in the future he will perform as a Support, and not as an ADC, at least for a while.
