In the clash between the champions of Korea and China, Gen.G celebrated with a score of 3-1 against Bilibili Gaming and won the MSI 2024 Champions Cup.
The spectacular finish of one of the best MSI tournaments we've ever had the chance to watch brought a bunch of excitement, new records, and historic successes for some of the participants.
Unlike many previous matches, all games in the final were long and almost minimum 40 minutes, which only shows how much both teams had to show in the fight for the title. The first threatened Gen.G and took a 1-0 lead in a game that will forever be overshadowed by what followed in the second game.
Namely, in the second game, Peyz broke the world record for the number of kills in one game at the international LoL tournament, with an incredible 28 kills, including a pentakill at the end of the game. Even so, the spotlight was on his support Legends who had one of the games of their lives on Blitzcrank, allowing both their ADC and the rest of the team to get a precious win and a big 2-0.
Bilibili managed to stop Gen.G at least briefly in the third game, Xun had a great game on Nidalee, and Bin with Jax managed to make a difference in key moments and show why he is one of the best players on the planet right now.
In the fourth game we witnessed real drama when Bilibili managed to get back into the game thanks to the heroic play of Xun who steals Baron from the opponents, which made the game last until the 47th minute when Gen.G finally managed to break for the third time resistance of the opponent and put an end to the final match.
With this, Gen.G has qualified for the 2024 World Championship and most importantly, according to the form they are showing, they remain in the race for the popular "Golden Road", i.e. winning all the titles in one competition year. Chovy, who finally won the first international trophy, was especially looking forward to the trophy, as well as Kiin, who slowly built his career from the last place in the LCK to the champion of Korea, and now the winner of the MSI tournament.
