Two large esports organizations from Britain and Spain have united in a new entity called GIANTX, which will compete in a large number of international competitions, including the LEC.
Giants Gaming is a well-known Spanish organization that already competed in the EU LEC league before the franchise system was introduced, after which they continued to compete in the Spanish regional league. The Giants have been rumored for some time to want to return to the LEC, but when you consider that Riot has decided not to expand the league for the time being, it's clear why buying any of the existing slots has become extremely difficult.
Esports organizations in the LEC even if they don't have a large fan base want to be part of the league and are looking for huge sums of money to get out completely, which is why the principle of joining the two organizations has become increasingly popular in the last year.
This kind of system turned out to be a complete hit for Excel, which since entering the league is struggling to find its identity, which is why the cooperation with the Giants will help them to at least attract the attention of Spanish fans.
The new organization will be co-managed by Excel and Giants CEOs Tim Reichert and Jose Diaz, and in addition to the LEC, the organization will also compete in the VALORANT Champions Tour Series.
GIANTX will compete in the LEC next season with the following lineup:
