LEC star Luka "Perkz" Perkovic won't have the chance to add another trophy to his display case after the Heretics were defeated by SK Gaming in the start of a losing streak in the winter playoffs.
When it was announced that the former trio of G2 Esports would be reunited in the LEC, but this time in the jersey of Team Heretics, fans were delighted to welcome the return of the greats. However, despite their efforts, they failed to replicate the great G2 from this team's golden era, which is why they end their participation in the playoffs without a win.
In the first round of the playoffs, they were outplayed by the playful Team BDS, who will have the opportunity to qualify for the grand final against G2 today, and in the first round of the lower playoff, they were met by SK Gaming, who started the playoffs with a defeat against Vitality.
Perkz and friends opened the match against SK Gaming with a convincing victory in which the Croatian stood out especially playing Azir with whom he achieved an 8-0-5 performance after half an hour of play that was needed for the Heretics to register the victory and take a 1-0 lead.
SK Gaming managed to respond and even the score, and then to get a convincing victory in the decisive third game. The main culprit for the defeat is Martin "Wunder" Hansen who completely failed with Gnar. He was already killed by Irrelevant at the fifth level in a 1v1 fight, and this fact is especially surprising when you consider that he was Malphite and he still did not even have ulti magic on his hero, without which Malphite can hardly come to the kill.
Final epilogue - Wunder finished with a 0-5-2 record after SK knew how to take advantage of the top lane advantage they had.
In the second match of the fight for survival, MAD Lions KOI easily handled GiantX. In the first game, they humiliated their rivals with a 15-0 victory, while in the second they were the dominant rival all the time, finishing the game in 27 minutes. Vitality will be waiting for them in the next round of the fight for survival, while SK and Fnatic will meet in the second part of the draw.
