The Serbian CS2 team Zero Tenacity made a huge success by winning the first of two fall RES EU Masters, which qualified them for the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024, where they will have the opportunity to win a spot at the BLAST Premier Fall Final.
Zero Tenacity continues to provide excellent games in continuity, which was first reflected in the constant growth in the HLTV world ranking, and now in the qualification to BLAST Showdown.
They came to the tournament as underdogs, while more experienced teams such as Fnatic, ENCE and SAW took over the role of favourites, but in the end they were the ones who took the victory.
In group A, Fnatic and SAW made it to the playoffs, justifying their roles as favorites, while in group B we saw several extremely exciting matches in which nuances decided. At the start of the tournament, Z10 defeated Spanish KOI 13-10, and then in the fight for first place they defeated DMS after overtime 16-14.
In the fight for survival, ENCE and KOI played a marathon match in which ENCE won 25-23, which best describes the competition in the group, and then in the decisive match for passage, DMS won a narrow 13-11 victory against ENCE.
In the semi-finals, Z10 played against the 23rd ranked team in the world, the Portuguese team SAW, who managed to take a 1-0 lead with a win on Vertigo, but Z10 managed to turn the score around and win the next two maps (13-9 Anubis, 13-7 Dust2) .
The Russian team DMS made a big surprise in the second semi-final and defeated Fnatic, thereby scheduling a rematch with Z10 in the final.
In it, they managed to provide adequate resistance only on the first map, Inferno, where they took a 7-5 lead on the T side, but in the continuation, Z10 took eight out of ten rounds and came within a step of the main goal with 13-9. On Anubis we saw one team, Zero Tenacity absolutely destroyed the opponents taking the first half 12-0, and in the rest all DMS could do was get four consolation rounds and reduce the total loss to 4-13.
