Famous Danish CS player Andreas "Xyp9x" Hojsleth said goodbye to the organization he has been a part of for eight long years and with which he won four CS:GO Major titles.
A member of the Danish mix that performed for Team SoloMid in 2015, Xyp9x was part of the five-piece with which Astralis was founded in January 2016.
In the period that followed, Xyp9x and Astralis lifted the Major cup four times, making them absolute record holders, and Xyp9x himself also holds an impressive record when it comes to the so-called "clutch" plays in CS:GO esports. Known for his composure in difficult moments, Xyp9x often brought crucial rounds for Astralis with a cool head and played an extremely important role in the team's successes.
Five times he was in the top 20 HLTV list, and his personal decline in the quality of the game comes in 2021, when Astralis began to go through changes in the composition.
Previously, he had a break of five months during 2020, but only in 2023 he was removed from the first team and transferred to the Astralis Talent B team, where he stayed for only two months, and after that, until now, his playing duties have been resolved.
In his farewell message, he stated that he already has the next project ready, but for now we still don't know if he will play again, or maybe he will try his hand at coaching.
