Swani leaving G2

Jan "Swani" Muller issued an official announcement today that he is leaving his position as coach of G2 Esports after BLAST World Final 2023.

Swani began his career at G2 as an analyst in August 2019, before moving to the position of assistant coach two years later. When Remy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam left the team, the German was given the opportunity to try himself in the role of head coach, and after a short trial period, he was brought to this position permanently.

He started his streak of success with G2 right at the BLAST World Final when G2 broke his winning streak and lifted the precious trophy of the main BLAST competition.

In the following year, Swani and G2 won two big trophies, IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne, and as Swani himself mentioned, the one in Cologne is especially dear to him and he will always remember it because he had the opportunity to raise the trophy next to the home audience.

The announcement states that the decision is solely his, and that he is leaving the position because he needs time to devote to himself and his family, which is why he cannot fully concentrate on his hard work at G2.

With him at the helm, G2 will finish the calendar year and try to defend the BLAST Premier World Final trophy at the tournament that will be held from December 13 to 17.

For now, there are no indications of who could replace him on the G2 Esports bench.
