Sprout shuts down

The German esports organization best known for its CS team has today issued an official announcement that they will cease further operations.

With a long statement that does not reveal too many details about the reason for the shutdown, but specifically states that the organization is left without its main source of finance, Sporut said goodbye to the esports audience.

The organization that entered esports waters at the end of 2017, by signing the German team Seed, in the following years went through many different lineups and played in a large number of tournaments.

On several occasions, they succeeded in selling talented players to larger organizations, which was their main business model, but as they themselves stated, it is increasingly difficult to sell players today and remain relevant on the scene due to increasingly strong competition.

This news obviously came as a surprise to the organization itself, which less than ten days ago brought new players from the ENCE Academy.

Sprout saw their peak success twice, when they played at the Boston ELEAGUE Major in 2018 and then at the Rio Major three years later, and among the transfers they made is the sale of Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov to Natus Vincere.

At the beginning of the year, they managed to sell Rasmus "Zyphon" Nordfoss to TSM, but even that didn't seem to be enough to strengthen the stability of the organization.

Among the Sprout members who were left without a contract is Mihajlo "Feed" Petrović, Sprout Academy coach.
