In the finals of Group A at IEM Katowice 2024, Team Spirit took first place and secured a direct place in the semi-finals with a convincing 2-0 victory against FaZe Clan, while Falcons and Pavle "maden" Bošković managed to defeat Natus Vincere 2-0 and take their place in the playoffs.
The phenomenon known as Danil "donk" Kryshovets continued to present an unsolvable enigma for opponents, this time bringing to their knees the second team in the world and the main favorite for the title after Vitality was eliminated, FaZe Clan.
With a total of 48 frags, 120.5 damage per round and a 1.83 rating, donk once again dominated the server, especially on Nuke where he did 27 frags with a truly incredible 147.6 damage per round and a 2.35 rating.
The question is whether anyone will be able to stop the Spirit while they are on such a roll, and now they are only two matches away from the title.
Although FaZe opened Mirage with a 5-1 score, Spirit managed to tie the game by halftime and then win the game 13-10.
Nuke was the second map, and here Spirit took eight rounds on the CT side and then gave up just one more round down the stretch for a convincing 13-5.
In the meantime, the Falcons also managed to record a big victory and take the penultimate place in the playoffs. They put on an incredible game on the Ancient map where they rallied from a 3-9 halftime deficit to claim a 13-11 victory. Then they demolished Na'Vi at Mirage with a convincing 13-4.
At times, Na'Vi provided good games in Katowice, but in the end they will have to settle for a top 8 ranking, which is definitely not what they wanted.
