Smooya signed to Into The Breach

Popular British CS2 player Owen "smooya" Butterfield has been unveiled as the first member of the new Into The Breach five.

At the beginning of the year, ITB benched most of the active team and thus announced its withdrawal from CS2 esports for an indefinite period. As they indicated, they used the period that followed to look at all options, and returned with a new team, whose complete composition we will find out next week.

Into The Breach made a name for themselves with an unexpected top 8 finish at the last CS2 Major, the BLAST Paris Major. The success on it brought them a direct passage to the EU RMR for the PGL Copenhagen Major, where they were eliminated without a victory, which certainly had an impact on the team's disbandment.

Smooya who already had the opportunity to play for ITB two years ago as a substitute, has played for various teams during his career such as BIG, Chaos Esports Club, Movistar Riders and Fnatic, and recently we had the opportunity to watch him in the team's jersey Forze as a replacement during the 19th season of the ESL Pro League, where he performed solidly.

In his breaks from professional gaming, Smooya has been building a very successful career as a streamer, but has often stated that his priority is to compete at the highest level. He now has a new opportunity in front of him, and as the director of the organization, Sam Macdeonio, said, the team's goal will be placement in the top 15 teams in the world.
