Relog Media has revealed all the details of the first of two qualifying tournaments for BLAST Fall Showdown 2024.
The leading Serbian esports company in cooperation with BLAST brings two more tournaments where well-known names of CS2 esports such as Fnatic and ENCE will fight for the opportunity to meet in the autumn BLAST Showdown competition.
Eight teams will compete in each of the tournaments, four of which received direct invitations, three from open qualifications, while the last one will come from regional competitions, including the seventh edition of the domestic RES league.
ENCE, SAW, Fnatic and KOI received invitations to the first RES EU Masters. For ENCE, this will be another tournament of great importance and an opportunity to qualify for the BLAST Showdown by placing in the main BLAST event, thereby improving the image that was shaken by the team's failures in the previous few competitions in which they performed.
After their initial success at IEM Katowice 2024, ENCE failed to make it to the finals of any of the major tournaments, but they still hold a high 21st position in the HLTV rankings. SAW and KOI drew a lot of attention to themselves by placing at the Major, but unlike KOI, the Portuguese team achieved much better results, including success at the spring BLAST Showdown tournament where they managed to reach the BLAST Spring Final.
They then outplayed Team Liquid, Cloud9 and finally OG, and now they will have to beat new competition in order to even have a chance to repeat their success.
There is also Fnatic, who by bringing in the former captain of Astralis, Benjamin "blameF" Bremer, proved that they are ready for new successes, which is why they come to the RES EU Masters under the imperative of victory.
The most famous of the teams from the open qualifications is the Sangal team, which we have the opportunity to watch at the RES Regional Series competition, and there are also the CIS teams Favbet and DMS.
The first RES EU Masters is scheduled from May 31 to June 2.
