The first part of this year's Roobet Cup ended with the decisive matches for passage to the playoffs, and a total of eight teams continue the fight for the trophy and the prize fund of $250,000.
The group stage of the competition brought several surprises, among which the elimination of Astralis in Group C and Ninjas in Pajamas and Fnatica in Group D stand out.
In group A, the first place was taken by FURIA, and in the decisive match, Heroic and Arurora played a rematch. Unlike the first round, this time the Russian team was more successful, but Heroic, even in a weakened lineup with two changes, put up a great resistance and lost only in the last round of the regular part of the third map (16-14 Ancient, 7-13 Nuke, 13-11 Overpass ).
And in group B, the match from the beginning of the tournament has ended the group stage, it is the clash between Movistar Riders and 9z. Previously, Virtus.pro topped the group, while Team Spirit was unexpectedly the first team to be eliminated. Although Movistar Riders experienced a heavy defeat on the second map, they did not allow 9z to make a surprise and with a convincing victory on Overpass they reached the quarterfinals (13-11 Ancient, 5-13 Nuke, 13-6 Overpass).
BIG took the first place in group C with a great game, while Apex struggled quite a bit to reach the end of the event. After the defeat against the German team in the first round, they first had to knock out Astralis, which they managed to do, and then beat the unpleasant 9INE (13-7 Mirage, 13-8 Vertigo).
Although they entered Group D as the main favorites, it was Fnatic who were the first to bid farewell to the tournament, while Monte took the lead. NiP and OG fought for passage, and OG won after three maps (13-10 Mirage, 8-13 Overpass, 13-9 Ancient).
Already from 12 today we are watching the first matches of the quarterfinals. BIG and Aurora Gaming are the first to enter the server, while Monte and Movistar Riders fight after that. The winners of these matches will play each other to decide who will be in the grand final.
In the second half of the draw tomorrow, FURIA and Apeks will fight from 15:00, followed by Virtus.pro and OG. You can follow the matches live on Arena Esport TV and YouTube channel.
