We got two more participants of the winter CS2 spectacle in Jönköping after Looking4Org and Nouns Esports celebrated in the final matches at the end of the European and American qualifiers.
As a reminder, Looking4Org is a French team that previously performed for the esports organization HEET, which left Counter-Strike esports in May. The players continued to play together and look for a new organization, and placement in a big tournament might help them to appear under the auspices of a well-known esports brand.
Interestingly, Looking4Org came from the open qualifiers to the closed ones, where they then defeated all four directly invited teams on their way to the final victory. They lost in the first round to Team Spirit, whom they later avenged in the finals, which is why they had to fight through a losing streak where they no longer had the right to make mistakes and where they had to win five tied matches to reach Jönköping.
Already at the start of the loser's bracket, the 15th team in the world according to the HLTV ranking list, the German BIG, was waiting for them, and after they overcame this obstacle, challenges awaited them in the form of teams Apex, Aurora Gaming, Movistar Riders and finally Team Spirit.
The excellent Ali "hAdji" Hainouss led his team to victory with 50 frags, a 1.68 rating and an incredible 106.5 damage per round. The French took a 13-9 lead with a 13-9 victory on their pick Anubis, before surprising Spirit on the Nuke map where they came away with a relatively convincing 13-7 victory against a very unpleasant Russian team.
In the American qualifiers, Nouns Esports defeated Evil Geniuses twice. Once at the start of the qualification and then in the final. They and L4O have now joined the list of previously invited teams that include: Virtus.pro Monte, GamerLegion and Eternal Fire. The remaining two participants of the tournament will come from the Asian and South American qualifiers.
