G2 defeated Complexity 13-7 on both maps (Anubis and Ancient) and secured a place in the playoffs of the first major LAN CS2 tournament.
The playoff match between G2 and Complexity started on Anubis, which is by far the best map of the American team in the last three months. The teams were evenly matched after the first half, but G2 completely dominated Complexity on the CT side losing only one of eight rounds.
Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov was in particularly good spirits with a 23-10 record, 103.1 damage per round and a 1.89 rating on the first map, showing that AWP players needn't worry in CS2 and can still carry games when they play in top form.
This was followed by Ancient as G2's pick. Complexity took the first two rounds, but G2 went on a 4-0 run right after. The American team managed to take two more runs by the end of the first half, which was highlighted by a beautiful no scope AWP kill by Nikola "NiKo" Kovač.
G2 manages to take the second pistol round and further strengthen the leading position, which they did not drop until the end of the map. Justin "jks" Savage was especially happy about the victory, who will have the opportunity to play in front of the home crowd and maybe bring them a trophy at the end of the tournament.
Tomorrow, G2 will have the opportunity to win a direct passage to the semi-finals if they take the first place in the B group, and their opponent in that match will be better than the ENCE - Fnatic duel.
