G2 Esports defeated Brazilian team Fluxo 2-1 in the first round of CCT Online Finals 5 with the debut of Nemanja "nex" Isaković who recently returned to the team.
G2 managed to justify the role of favorites against the 109th team in the world, but Fluxo managed to work hard on them and take the second map, perhaps showing a better game than expected.
G2 led at their peak in Inferno, where they were 8-4 at halftime playing the T side, only to hold on until the end for an eventual 13-7 triumph with 18 frags from Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, as well as 99.2 damage per round which earned him an overall 1.62 rating on the first map.
Fluxo fought like a lion on Nuke, where they took as many as seven rounds on the T side, and although G2 stabilized later on, the opponent was better in the end and took a 13-10 victory.
He played Fluxo and the third map Ancient well in the first half, when G2 took a minimal 7-5 lead after the first part of the game. We can only guess what the outcome of the map would have been had Fluxo won the second pistol round, but a burst nexa and an awakened Nikola "NiKo" Kovach combined for five kills and started a 6-0 run that G2 made in the second half of the game for a convincing 13 -5.
Their opponent in the second round will be the winner of the match Sprout - Anonymo which will be played tomorrow at 14:30.
