G2 beat FaZe 2-0 to advance to the PGL Copenhagen Major!

G2 managed to avenge their loss to FaZe-uz in the quarter-finals of IEM Katowice 2024 and with a score of 2-0 came the third victory that ensured their participation in the first CS2 Major.

G2 was incomparably better than in the previous clash between these two teams, and the biggest difference was made by the excellent form of team star Nikola "NiKo" Kovac.

It is clear to everyone that in the previous period NiKo had problems getting used to the new edition of CS, but in today's match he reminded the fans why he was declared the second best player in the world last year.

With a 43-25 record, 109.9 damage per round and a 1.67 rating, NiKo gave FaZe major headaches, and G2 were once again as unstoppable on the T side as they were in the days when they dominated the CS:GO scene.

The fight started with Anubius picked by G2, and after a 6-6 halftime, G2 took the initiative in the second half of the game and dropped just two rounds the rest of the map for a 13-8 victory. Captain Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen was also excellent in the ranks of G2, who finished the map with a 1.40 rating and 17 frags, the most after Nikola.

On the Ancient FaZe map, he managed to take a 7-5 lead, but we saw an almost identical picture below, and at the right moment, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov burst into action and scored 25 frags.

With this, G2 became the first team to officially qualify for the PGL Copenhagen Major, and now they can prepare for the biggest challenge ahead of them much more calmly.
