ESL announced tonight which eight teams were directly invited to the main stage of the tournament, as well as which 16 teams will have the opportunity to compete for the finals of one of the most popular CS competitions through the play-in.
The first of the most elite CS2 tournaments we will see in the coming year, IEM Katowice 2024 will take place from January 31st to February 11th in the magnificent edition of Spodek Arena.
The world's best CS2 teams will battle it out to ring in the new year in style, lift the precious trophy and win a major portion of the $1 million prize pool. Of course, we should not forget that winning the tournament brings with it a direct invitation to IEM Cologne 2024 and BLAST Premier World Final 2024.
The list of directly invited teams is led by G2 Esports as winners of Cologne, MOUZ as champions of ESL Pro League 18 and FaZe Clan who won IEM Sydney.
Through the ESL World Ranking, invitations were received by: Team Vitality, Complexity, Natus Vincere, Monte and Team Falcons (which took over the core of the ENCE team).
The representative of Poland in the play-in phase will be PALOMA, and the remaining 13 teams invited to this phase of the tournament are: Cloud9, Virtus.pro, Heroic, FURIA, M80, Rooster, The MongolZ, BIG, GamerLegion, Apeks, Astralis, Eternal Fire, Betboom Team, ENCE and Team Spirit.
