BR0 SIGNED FOR ASTRALIS, DEV1CE ASSUMED ROLE OF CAPTAIN

Just a day after announcing that Benjamin "blameF" Bremer will no longer lead the team, Astralis has introduced a new player, Monte Alexander "br0" Bro. His arrival also means that the team needs a new captain, and that role will be taken by team legend Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz.

After half a year in the Monte team, br0 returns to Astralis where he spent eight months in their academy. The move seems a bit surprising when you consider the fact that br0 did not have a notable performance during his time playing for Monte and that he struggled a lot against the best teams in the world, but according to representatives of Astralis br0 proved to be a great talent in their academy for which he deserved a chance in the first team.

He should make room for the rest of the team and allow the new players of Astralis to shine, of course we are talking about the reinforcements from Heroic consisting of Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard and Martin "stavn" Lund, who did not have the best debut for the new organization and achieved a very poor performance at EU RMR where Astralis failed to qualify for the Major.

Bringing him in also required someone to take over the role of IGL and captain, and that duty fell to the most experienced member of the team and the only player from Astralis' golden five, dev1ce.

Dev1ce has had a mixed performance since his return to Astralis, during EU RMR he played well below the level of the four-time Major champion on a couple of occasions, and it remains to be seen how he will fare now that he has to lead the team in addition to his AWP role. By his own words, he was already the assistant IGL and blameF's right-hand man, so he should easily settle into his new role.
