BLAST officially presented the first Major in 2025, also the first Major in America after seven years.
Although several different sources have largely confirmed the rumors about the said Major, last night we also received an official confirmation from the organizers.
This will be the second Major that BLAST will organize, after they had the honor of sending the CS:GO Majors into history by organizing the BLAST Paris Major where Vitality lifted the trophy in front of the home crowd.
With ESL currently the largest organizer of CS competitions, BLAST entered the organization of Major tournaments relatively late, but they did not wait long for the opportunity to try again with elite competition.
The Texas Major will be held in June next year and will be the third CS2 Major. The tournament will be organized in the Moody Center arena, which can accommodate over 15,000 spectators.
Let's recall, the last Major we watched in America was the historic ELEAGUE Boston Major 2018, where Cloud9 brought the first and only CS Major trophy to the region.
Although the US CS scene has been in a huge scoring crisis for a long time, America recently proved during the IEM Dallas 2024 tournament that they can still host great competitions and that the passion for CS esports on this continent has not died down. It remains to be seen if the Major on home soil will trigger some of the dormant American esports organizations to return to CS2 esports and perhaps become the new crowd favorites like Cloud9 did seven years ago.
