Apex leaves CS2 esports

The Norwegian esports organization has announced that it will pause operations in CS2 esports until further notice.

This is the end of the CS esports competition tradition that has been going on since 2013. Apex reached the pinnacle of success last year when, as outsiders, they managed to reach the semi-finals of the BLAST Paris Major, which for a short time brought them a top 10 ranking on the HLTV ranking.

They haven't been able to replicate that, or anything remotely close to it, and the setbacks combined with a tough economic situation have led to them recently putting all their players up for sale.

Tim "nawwk" Jonasson and Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad were sold to BLEED Esports, and Martin "STYKO" Styk moved to Monte as a free agent. It remains to be seen what will be the fate of the remaining two players, Aleksandar "CacaNito" Kyulukoski and Adne "sense" Fredriksen.

Apex also said goodbye to its Fortnite section, focusing exclusively on Valorant in the future.
