The Spirit managed to defeat Natus Vincere 3-1 to win their second major trophy in 2024, confirming once again that they are one of the best teams on the planet right now.
The Spirit picked up their fourth straight win against Na'Vi, their first in the Bo5 format. They entered the finals as favorites and they justified that role, although Na'Vi really put up a great fight and showed that they don't have much left in their game to be able to seriously threaten the Spirit.
At the start of the match, we watched Ancient, where Spirit took a convincing 10-2 lead on the T side, and although Na'Vi responded well in the continuation, the difference was too big and they did not succeed beyond 9-13.
We saw the same result on Dust2, which was Na'Vi's pick. This time the teams were much more even, but with the score 9-9 Spirit made a crucial mini-series and with four rounds came the victory.
On Mirage, Na'Vi showed force even though it was Spirit's pick. This time they had a huge 10-2 take on the CT side, which they turned into a 13-4 win a few rounds later.
Nuke decided the winner, the first half was uncertain and the Spirit only had a two-run lead, but in the second half they took six of seven rounds for a 13-6 victory that put an end to the match.
With IEM Katowice 2024 and BLAST Spring Final 2024, the Spirit trophy can hold its head high for the summer break, and it is sure to be a big obstacle for all the teams that also aim to climb to the top in the rest of the year.
Daniil "donk" Kryhkovets, who finished the match with 73 frags, 93.8 damage per round and 1.30 rating, was declared MVP of the finals.
