Jason Lake "bought" Complexity Gaming again

The former owner of the esports organization Complexity, Jason Lake, heads the investment group Global Esports Properties, which bought the Complexity brand from GameSquare for $10.36 million.

In 2017, Jason Lake sold Complexity to the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, so that in 2021, GameSquare would take over the famous American esports brand.

A few months ago, there was a rumor that GameSquare would take over FaZe Clan, which confused the Counter-Strike community, as Valve and ESL in their rules do not allow jointly owned teams to play in the same tournaments. This meant that the purchase of FaZe would mean the end of one of two very successful teams, but a solution was found and implemented.

GameSquare has been given the green light to buy FaZe Clan, both parties have confirmed, and Complexity is back in the hands of its original owner and founder for a second time.

Let's remind, Complexity is one of the oldest CS2 organizations, they have been competing in this esport for 20 years, since 2024, and Lake already sold the team once in 2006, only to buy it again after just a few years.

With this outcome of the situation, FaZe and Complexity CS2 teams will be able to continue to compete, and if Complexity successfully passes NA RMR, we could soon see both teams at the PGL Copenhagen Major, the first Major in CS2 esports.
