G2 Esports CS2 team general manager Petar "peca" Markovic told HLTV that the team's AWPer Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov is not for sale and that the organization is not currently considering the offers they have received for him.
HLTV reached out to G2's manager in an attempt to get some answers after G2 pulled out of the CS Asian Championship. Rumors have started circulating in the CS2 esports community that Nikola "NiKo" Kovač is being targeted by the wealthy Arab organization Falcons and also that m0NESY wants to continue playing alongside him, which could lead to the Falcons acquiring both of the team's stars with a suitable cash offer.
Soon after, there was a rumor that Cloud9 was interested in buying one of the biggest AWP talents on the planet, but G2 rejected their offer. This rumor was fueled by Peca's statement to HLTV, where he openly said that they have already answered the interested organizations that the young Russian is not for sale.
What will be of particular interest to G2 fans is that the comment regarding Nikola was completely different and Peca stated that "NiKo is one of the all-time best players to ever play Counter-Strike and it would be extremely difficult to find a change that would 1 I could replace him for 1."
HLTV followed up on this comment by adding that a source close to the organization told them that negotiations regarding the potential transfer of Nikola are ongoing, but that no concrete agreement has been reached yet.
