The Turkish esports organization reacted quickly after two members of their academy were banned from the FACEIT platform.
Namely, Ahmet "cyber" Akpinar and Bilgihan "Depact" Ayaz, who received a two-year ban on FACEIT for cheating, were expelled from the EF Academy.
They exploited a bug in the game that allows the use of console commands that allow manipulation of what is seen in the game itself, such as editing the transparency of textures that allows you to see opponents through walls.
The players were banned on Monday, and FACEIT said on Sunday that they are aware of the bug and that anyone using it will be severely punished. On the official FACEIT platform, it is stated that the punishment for this type of cheating is a two-year ban, which is exactly what the Turkish players got.
Cyber spent almost two years in the EF Academy, while Depact joined the team in early 2024 and was kicked out of the team after just three months.
