SunPayus officially joins FUT

Álvaro "SunPayus" García has officially joined FUT Esports’ CS2 roster, with the Turkish organization confirming the signing. The experienced Spanish AWPer arrives from G2, where he spent the previous three months on the bench, and will take over as FUT’s primary AWPer.

SunPayus’ arrival marks the first major change to FUT’s roster following a highly successful period for the young team. The Spaniard will replace Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov, who has been moved to the bench after spending more than a year with the organization.

SunPayus joined G2 in July 2025 as a long-term replacement for Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov following his transfer to Falcons. He helped G2 win BLAST Open London 2025 during his first month with the team, but the roster struggled to maintain consistent results over the following months, eventually leading to SunPayus being benched in June 2026. G2 subsequently signed Artem "r1nkle" Morozov as their new AWPer.

Before joining G2, SunPayus represented HEROIC, Falcons, ENCE and Movistar Riders, establishing himself as one of the more experienced AWPers on the international Tier 1 scene. With ENCE, he won IEM Dallas 2023, while he also attended both Majors in 2025, representing HEROIC in Austin and G2 at the StarLadder Budapest Major.

His experience will be a significant addition to FUT, whose roster has an average age of around 20. FUT made a major breakthrough on the international stage during 2026, winning PGL Bucharest after building its roster around the core of the former NAVI Junior lineup. SunPayus now joins the team as its most experienced player and is expected to contribute not only with the AWP, but also with his communication and decision-making during rounds.

The new FUT roster consists of Dmytro "dem0n" Myroshnychenko, Aulon "Krabeni" Fazlija, Džiugas "dziugss" Steponavičius, Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç and Álvaro "SunPayus" García, with András "coolio" Fercsák remaining as the team's coach.

SunPayus will have several weeks to integrate with his new teammates, as FUT currently has no scheduled tournaments before PGL Masters Bucharest, which begins on October 24.
