Snappi becomes HEROIC's new head coach

Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer has officially become the new head coach of HEROIC's CS2 roster, marking his transition into coaching after nearly two decades as a professional player. He will replace Joonas "doto" Forss, who was moved to the bench earlier today.

The move sees the 36-year-old Dane begin a new chapter in his career after leaving the active Ninjas in Pyjamas roster at the end of August. Snappi brings more than 20 years of Counter-Strike experience to the role, having represented numerous organizations throughout his career. His most successful period came with ENCE, where he led the team to victory at IEM Dallas 2023 as their in-game leader.

His arrival at HEROIC also represents something of a homecoming. Snappi was part of HEROIC's first-ever lineup in 2016 and represented the organization across two different stints until 2020. He later gained further experience with ENCE, Falcons and Ninjas in Pyjamas before deciding to move away from active competition and into coaching.

"I spent the last month thinking about my next move. When HEROIC and I first talked earlier this year, I wasn't ready to put the mouse down and we went our separate ways. However, when my time with NIP ended and I saw HEROIC finding their form again with this exciting young lineup, the decision became much easier," Snappi said about his return to the organization.

HEROIC's current lineup consists of Linus "nilo" Bergman, Tim "susp" Ångström, Christoffer "Chr1zN" Storgaard, Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez and Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin, with Snappi now taking over as head coach. The team has won two trophies this season, Stake Ranked Episode 3 and Stake Pulse Beat II, and currently sits 17th in the HLTV world ranking.

Snappi will make his coaching debut with HEROIC at Stake Pulse Beat III, which will take place in Stockholm from October 12 to 17. The $80,000 tournament will also feature teams such as Astralis, MIBR and Envy.

His move into coaching marks the end of one of the longer active playing careers in modern Counter-Strike, but Snappi will now have the opportunity to bring his extensive experience to a new generation of HEROIC players.
